Hash #720 Grandads birthday hash

"It's only borrowed"!!! Alarmingly for me and "Doggie Style" these were the words from the birthday boy himself "Grandad" and after we went to the trouble to get him the present he always wanted. Actually I have to confess we forgot his cake so "Doggie Style" came up with the idea of buying the ingredients and putting them on his head then asking him to stick his head in the oven til done. We have hashed at Mt Rodney before but as ever "Grandad" found a very different trail which was perfect and the views were stunning. We were blessed with great weather and with perfect visibility meaning that you could see all the islands north and way past Carriacou. Typically he had a trail for all abilities with the iron men catered for right through to the walkers. The beer stop was a welcome relief for many and positioned on "Grandad's" pristine lawn in front of his home, Mt Rodney House, that must have been the most scenic beer stop ever. The lady of the house came along and rode their pet donkey down the hill ably guided by "Speaks with the Dead. Thankfully all three made it safe and sound and no-one made and "ass" of themselves. We had an anxious wait while the stragglers wandered in, my thanks to "Cow Tail" for his help in bringing them all in safely. Then it was on with the fun. Now as most of you know Phil and Annie Clift run Petit Anse Hotel and yesterday some of their guests had been talked into to doing a hash for the first time. Yes they were virgins! No-one had given them the heads up so when they got back from the trail they duely changed into clean clothes and then we de-virginised them!!! Sorry. We had a few birthdays yesterday. As well as "Grandad's", "Flies Undone" also got to drink from the Malice Chalice but was spared the eggs and flour. I said in the details for this hash that there were some surprises lined up and "pinky" and "perky" were one of those. When we arrived the two pigs were cooking beautifully and the nice surprise was that "Grandad" gave the food for free. I think maybe we went too far with the eggs and flour but in his words "it's only borrowed." Next week we have Jah Wise back on the trails with a hash at La Tante. Details will be out shortly. In the meantime I think it's time for a swim. Oh and if anyone happens to see Phil leaving the supermarket with flour and eggs please tell me. ON ON.

Hash 719 Westerhall Rum Factory

With this hash we launch the run in to the Inter Caribbean Hash. Yes it is just a short few weeks now till we welcome hashers from all over the world to our beautiful island. Yesterday we had a dummy run for the opening of the ICH and what a venue we have. Westerhall Rum Factory is a beautiful location and a great place to start the ICH. My thanks yesterday to the " Bald Rummers " for setting a trail that was shorter than of late and I think most appreciated this and yes " Got The Runs " took advantage and did it twice!! The Valentines Hash brought out the romantics and some great photos coming in showing just that. I wish you all a great Valentines day for Tuesday. There were two hashers who earned a hash name yesterday. One for being stupid. Peter Lowe got ready for the hash and set off to the Rum Factory......at ClarkEs Court!!!! Now as no one saw him you would think that it would have been wise for him to keep his mouth closed but alas he told me and the result "Confused Rummer". The second person could have been from the group who wish for less numbers at hashes. Rebecca Thompson again told me of her attempt to knock out a male hasher by pushing a tree over and onto his head. Thankfully no damage was done but for you Rebecca you will now be known as " Wood Woman " . To you two and Graham and John wear your names with pride. Next week we are in another place of great beauty , Mount Rodney Beach. "Grandad" is 60 next week and he has invited us to his neck of the woods to help him celebrate this mile stone. I too am in shock as I thought it should be 70 not 60!!! He has promised a great hash as ever and some very nice surprises along the way. I know of some of these surprises and I can tell you it will a worth while trip to the North of the island next Saturday. So clear the diary and get set to help "Grandad " . You may want to cut his food for him or offer a wheel chair or think of some other way we can make his day a better one now he has reached this grand age. Happy Valentines Day to all hashers. ON ON

Valley View Heights will LONG be remembered. Yes "Disaster Zone" lived up to his name. There we were waiting at the beer stop, kindly donated by the owners, and we waited and we waited. The first runners came through in well over an hour and it looked like they had just had a shower. There was a relatively shorter walkers trail but some brave souls decided that the walkers was not for them and took on the might of the runners trail. I have to point out at this stage that "Dizzy", as we affectionately call him, changed the names of the trails to "Long ass" Trail and " Short Ass " trail so at the split he put a "long line of paper" and an "S". As this was someway in to the run and the fact that it was a very hot day, that is not a complaint anyone reading this in Europe, I can understand why people got on the wrong trail. Now you understand how he got his name but yesterday he along with his long suffering wife "Peggy" announced that they are to become Grandparents so I was thinking that a change of name might be appropriate....What about "Grand Disaster" !!! Congrats to you both and thanks for all your help. Starting without a rum shop can be dangerous but I think it all went well. The food was very good and the only problem with the beer was that it came from Trini, that is not to say we don't like Trini we do but your beer does not taste the same. I have had a chat with my contacts within GBL and I can say that from Tuesday all beer at hashes will have been brewed in Grenada. My thanks to "cut" for setting it all up yesterday and to "Danny" our hash DJ for once again giving us great music at a great volume!!! After the sun had gone down we were got a taste of what's in store on Independence Day with a beautiful full moon. For the 38th birthday of Grenada this Tuesday we are in Tempe. The location, between the Coca Cola factories, is not the most scenic but the views we will get from the top of the mou....opps better stop there. Suffice to say if we get a clear night we will have a great moonlight hash for Independence Day. Do not forget your flashlights/torches and bring a camera. These are words from our hare "De Bling Ting" who is out now setting the trail. A reminder now that we are only 81 days from the Inter Caribbean Hash. This event will take us to all corners of Grenada. It starts at Westerhall Rum factory with a meet and greet night and next week we will have a dummy run as Westerhall Rum are our hosts. Full details will be out on Wednesday as we do not want to cause more confusion than is necessary. Now then Graham Williams is organising things at the factory and he has hashed with us for too long now and still no hash name. If anyone has an idea let me know discreetly and we can christen him next week. In the mean time get those legs back in working order for Tuesday. Happy Birthday Grenada ON ON
