 Competitiveness is frowned upon in a hash. FRBs (Front Running B?..s) are looked down on. Hashers who cut corners, SCBs (Short Cutting B?..s), are regarded with equal disdain. You run or walk at your own pace, at your own risk, and with the knowledge of your own limitations. If you are unhappy about the trail ahead of you, you turn back and follow the trail back to the rum shop. No embarrassment is caused by cutting short your hash for any reason – it just means that you get to the beer ahead of the rest of the pack.
